Cultural Productions from LLCEC Project Courses
Each year, participants spend 2.5 hours per day in social justice project courses designed to help youth develop existing artistic skills or learn new ones in an environment that fosters processes-oriented learning. While it is our hope that each student is able to produce a finished work during the courses-- whether that be a collective mixtape they use to tell their experiences as Latinx young people or learning to sew a quilt out of re-purposed tee-shirts-- we want to cultivate supportive spaces that remind youth that their worth is not tied solely to their productivity. This gallery contains samples of works created by past participants.
