For over 10 years, Bobby Lee Verdugo and Yoli Rios, two student organizers of the 1968 L.A. Walkouts attended the LLCEC as educators and mentors to the leaders and youth. In 2016, the Mixing Matters youth and class leaders recorded Bobby sharing his poem, "I am Walking."
In 2017, RadioLex, El Pulso 95.7 teamed up with the LLCEC to offer the first Radio Justice Course. The link below includes three segments featuring stories of migration, education and what the LLCEC means to the youth who attend.
In 2018, 7 youth participated in a Radio Justice course that focused on creating individual podcast, the short podcast below was created by Edith Cruz. It was started during the camp and then developed with the support of the Radio Justice Artistic Leader and the Sobre la Mesa Radio show on 95.7 FM El Puslo. It was aired three times in early February 2019.
In 2021 and 2022, community artist and activist Edith Cruz worked with youth and parents during the LLCEC pop-up programs and camps to record conversations and stories.
